We have attempted to leave the dock a few times over the past week but it seems like if it's not one thing it's another. Yesterday we were ready to start heading south when all the sudden we realized that the back up bilge pump was not working! Luckily we were able to order a new one and it arrives this morning. So today is the day!? or so we hope. Here a few things that we have accomplished to get done over the past few weeks in preparation. Painted the name of the dinghy on her stern "Tender To: Coup d' Amour. Even took her out a couple of times for some relaxing rowing. Matthew use to be a raft guide in Colorado, so he is really good with the whole rowing thing. Me, not so much! But I am learning quickly and he is a great teacher. Made some hatch covers for the hatches, that turned out very nice. Then one day we were walking around the Flea Market and saw this guy had a booth making baseball hats. Now we have hats with the Coup's name on them. Pretty cool. Recently there have been a few nautical flea markets in the area that we have been attending. Matthew was called a pirate after scoring some beautiful wood spreaders for our masts for only $150. What a steal, he is a pirate. He is still trying to conquer the water tank leak on the starboard side of the boat. But now he is getting much closer to having it repaired. Fingers crossed. About a month ago we ordered some new LED light bulbs for the boat from, which finally arrived yesterday. Bad news was that when we got them home and he plugged them into the sockets, they didn't work. Very frustrating to say the least. But then a fellow dock mate showed up, Captain Chris, and said we could change the wiring around on the fixtures to fix the problem. Tada! it worked, we now have LED lights in the boat. Which are great for lower power consumption. So that's kind of it in a nutshell. Just waiting to see if today is the day we leave.
